NYC
New York City is one of my favorite places. When I am there I feel energized and alive. It may seem strange, but I have found some of the most peaceful places and people in this big city.
Last week I spent most of my time in the city. I had to go for many reasons—business meetings, the New York Gift Show and the Nanette Lepore fashion show.
My husband and I had a chance to have lunch at Souen—an amazing macrobiotic restaurant. I have been getting into macrobiotics lately. I find I can't stop reading about the philosophy and day-to-day living of this fascinating lifestyle choice. This is one of the great things that big cities have to offer: where else are you going to find a restaurant that is strictly macrobiotic? Cities celebrate diversity, and I always find exactly what I am looking for—the freshest ideas, the most specialized niche.
The gift show was great. There were so many organic, recycled, and earth-friendly products. I have been promoting these kinds of things for 6 years. It was wonderful seeing everyone truly embrace more sustainable living. My assistant and I found really cool new products that will be on the site shortly.
I was fortunate enough to be in Times Square when the Giants won the Super Bowl—and what an energizing and inspiring experience that was.
Yesterday I went to a real fashion show. I was able to attend because of my affiliation with the Make Mine A Million program. Donald Trump and many other celebrities were there.
I am now back in the office. New York City is definitely a city full of magic, as one of my friends says. She lives there and she says magical stuff is happening all around—and I experienced it this week.
