Sandy Speaks Resolutions

Hello Peaceful People,

What a wonderful holiday season! We are so grateful for all the orders we received and the new customers we were able introduce to the Peaceful Company lifestyle.

My holiday was one filled with gratitude and reflection and a few too many “7 layer” bars. My husband asked me what my New Year’s resolutions were and I told him I don’t really believe in such resolutions any more. Well, I do—I just don’t believe in all the pressure that comes with them. Usually on New Year’s Eve I would begin the dreaded list of what I will and will not do. I’d finish my glass of wine and vow to be good for the new year. This year I didn’t put any of that pressure on myself and it was a much more relaxed New Year’s Day.

Even though I didn’t want the pressure of resolution I did make a few decisions about my personal life. I want to conserve more, live with less, and be at optimum health.

During the holidays we filled so many bags of trash. I am trying to be better but there is just so much trash. We tried to get the kids fewer toys, as well as toys that used less packaging but we still had too much stuff and with gifts from others the trash was out of hand. Walking down the streets of New York City the other day, I noticed the same thing—tons of big plastic trash bags with Christmas trees thrown on the curbs. They say the small shopping bags are horrible for the environment but I can only imagine how bad those big thick black plastic bags are. I guess you could say another resolution is to recycle more and better. We recycle at the office and in the warehouse and we recycle at home but sometimes we get lazy.

Living in a small house is great for not having a lot of junk. I donate clothes and toys as much as possible, I feel my mind works better in a house that is free of clutter. So yesterday I began by rummaging through the house looking for stuff to get rid of.

I also have an exciting new relationship with Dr. Darren Weissman, author of The Power of Infinite Love & Gratitude. I feel a personal transformation approaching for me. According to numerology, 2008 is dominated by the vibrant and powerful number 1. As I feel it will be a great year for change, I summoned Darren to help me reach my peak of health and fitness, and, most importantly, mental well being. I will keep all of you abreast of my new life changes. I recall a recent conversation we had, and it went something like this…I said, “Darren I ate a yogurt parfait and a bagel for breakfast” and he replied, “Sandy, what did you really eat for breakfast—guilt, resentment, anger?” I think there’s some very powerful stuff here…

New Year’s Eve was a peaceful one. My daughter had a horrible earache. So we stayed home. After she went to bed I tried to do something that would be positive going in to the new year so I took out the new Louise Hay DVD, You Can Heal Your Life. It is a documentary of her life. I have to say it was the perfect thing to watch approaching a new year. Plus I had to see if my husband was in it. He was interviewed in Las Vegas for the movie when we attended the Hay House convention, but unfortunately he didn't make the cut. But the movie was great. It made me feel giddy inside...You have the power to change any situation in your life. Magic is happening all around us.

I love getting feedback and talking with customers so please feel free to send me an email sandy@peacefulcompany.com.

I wish each and every one of you a great new year!

Peace, Love & Happiness,

Sandy
